St Patrick’s College for girls, founded in 1840, holds the distinction of being the first school established by private enterprise in NSW. It was initiated through the efforts of the Catholic community in the Campbelltown area in collaboration with the district priest. Despite its esteemed history, the school’s street front had remained unimproved for quite some time. Thus, a project was undertaken to enhance its appeal, security, safety and accessibility for all stakeholders who interact with the school daily. This initiative encompassed several improvements, including the construction of a new bus shelter and “kiss and drop” precinct, the refurbishment of car parks, installation of new perimeter fencing and automatic gates as well as the implementation of enhanced lighting and DDA considerations throughout the premises. The project predominantly involved heavy civil and construction works, meticulously coordinated by our site manager in conjunction with the school administration. Special attention was given to staging the works to accommodate the school’s bustling schedule and to ensure minimal disruption to student movements before and after school hours.
